– Non-resident tax return (1040NR)

– Foreign Bank Accounts (FBAR)

– Foreign Financial Assets (8938)

– Foreign business-related returns (5471, 8865, 8858)

– ITIN, EIN

– Treaty Position (8833)

– Expatriation (8854)

Don’t panic! The IRS has an amnesty program that most people can use in order to become compliant. These “streamlined foreign offshore procedures” allow taxpayers to avoid penalties for non-filing and non-payment. Contact us today if you would like to start this process.

Fees will depend on the services needed. All fees will be agreed to up front; Nitzel Tax understands that legal fees are often an unexpected cost, and believes in full transparency regarding fees and services offered.

Yes! We can e-file both state and federal taxes.

Keep in mind that in some situations, it may be worth exploring whether there are grounds for breaking state tax residency. Get in touch for a consultation if you would like to explore or plan for this option.

Having a real pair of eyes on your return can give you indispensable peace of mind. Automated software frequently makes mistakes, and simply doesn’t understand the details of your situation like a tax advisor does.

Also, many international forms are not included in online software packages. Missing a required international form has serious consequences: the entire tax return remains open for audit as the statute of limitations will not start to run.

If you have assets in more than one country, you should absolutely care about estate planning. Even if you are not a “high net worth” individual (most of us are not!), you’ll want to be sure that your assets and beneficiaries are protected, and that no surprises await if you become tax resident outside of the US.

Yes, we can advise you about tax issues, and/or file returns for your business or consultancy.
