Your Swedish bank will happily lure the well-meaning, unsuspecting you into opening an ISK and investing in shiny-sounding funds like Nordea Stratega 70 or SEB Globalfond. What they won’t tell you is that doing so will light your U.S. tax situation on fire.
Not because they’re malicious – they just don’t know.
